Bamberg (Oct 12)

I'd say today was the least exciting day so far.

In the morning, we were briefed on how the ship switch was going to proceed tomorrow, then a lady told us the history of the canal that was built between the Main and Danube Rivers across the continental divide of Europe, which was pretty interesting.  After lunch, we visited the medieval town of Bamberg, which offered not much more than a cathedral as far as sightseeing goes

There was also a plaza where potential witches were imprisoned (over 1000 were executed here) and a rose garden, but not a whole lot else.  We had a midday snack at a place that served a nice smoked beer, sausage, and a pretzel

We bused back to the boat, the current crew said their goodbyes, and one of the tour directors (who was trained as an opera singer) sang very impressively.

Tonight we packed in prep for the ship switch tomorrow, and we will visit Nurnberg.
